Alice Mogwe of Botswana Honoured by French President
ALICE MOGWE OF BOTSWANA HONOURED BY FRENCH PRESIDENT
On 5/12/2024, Our Principal Managing Partner Arnold Tsunga was a guest speaker to celebrate appointment by French President Emmanuel Macron of Ms Alice Mogwe Executive Director of Ditshwanelo with the National Order of the Legion of Honor.
His Excellency, Ambo Brochenin, the Ambassador of France to Botswana hosted a reception in Gaborone. Also in attendance was the Botswana Minister of International Relations, Hon. Phenyo.
About Alice Mogwe
Alice is the founder and director of the human rights organization Ditshwanelo of Botswana.
She is the President of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) that has 193 leagues/members out of over 150 countries globally.
The member organisations of FIDH elected Alice Mogwe as President of FIDH, during the 40th Congress in Taiwan.
Alice Mogwe, a staunch human rights advocate and civil society leader, has now led the FIDH for two terms including officiating at its 100th anniversary in 2022 in Paris.

Alice is a firm believer in Butho/ubuntu/hunhu and sees the centrality of respect for human dignity as a foundation for respect of human rights.
